Frequently Asked Questions

Chaizza (pronounced CHAI TZA, like pizza), is a portmanteau of Chai, the globally recognized word for tea, and tazza, which means cup in Italian. My Chaizza literally means “my tea cup.”

So many reasons: No tea is wasted. Chaizza users have total freedom and control of how much loose tea gets steeped. A traditional tea bag has a fixed amount dictated by the tea company. Most conventional tea bags are packaged in plastic that can’t decompose. We encourage tea companies to discontinue production of single-use tea bags. We hope everybody can move to reusable tea bags to decrease the amount of plastic released into the environment. Using a Chaizza eliminates the labels and tea bag strings which are manufactured paper products. Also, that staple keeping it all together won’t end up in a sea turtle’s nose. All that helps save innumerable trees and decreases plastic production every year. A Chaizza is a win-win-win product. A win for the Chaizza community, a win for tea companies, and a win our environment.

After drinking your tea, coffee, or herb mix; the tea leaves and coffee grounds can be composted or dumped on plants as natural and safe fertilizers. Loose-leaf tea is a great plant fertilizer. You can put the tea leaves into the soil once you're done drinking. You get a delicious cup of tea and nurture your garden.

The infuelder (pronounced IN FYOOL DER), is a portmanteau of infuser and holder. It’s glazed inside the mug the same way the handle is on the outside and it is not removable.

It’s all about what’s in the bag. Try any mix of teas, coffees, herbs, and spices that you feel create the best drinking experience for you. Your custom blend your way. My Chaizza my way!

Chaizzas are 16oz, made of ceramic, and are dishwasher friendly.

You can use a Chaizza in any setting; home, office, restaurants, picnics, or anywhere else.

You fold it in half and place it in either eyelet (see gallery) Create a custom blend by inserting a folded tea bag of each flavor into a separate eyelet (see gallery). To add mint leaves put the leaves on the tea bag before folding in half and then place it in an eyelet (see gallery).

It’s designed in California and made in China.

The Chaizza logo is in the shape of a swan.
Swans symbolize grace, beauty, love, trust, and loyalty. Swan symbolism is also linked to inner beauty and self-love. The colors –brown and green—symbolize the earth and our environment. The Chaizza was invented for an elegant, mess-free tea drinking experience, with the love of our environment in mind.
